LOCATION
The Forrestania Operation is located 400km east of Perth in Western Australia.
The Ballardong people, the Marlinyu Ghoorlie people and the Ngadju people are the Traditional Owners of the land.
BACKGROUND
In 2022, the Forrestania Operation was acquired by IGO as part of the acquisition of Western Areas.
SPOTTED QUOLL MINE
The Spotted Quoll underground mine was discovered in October 2007 as a result of ongoing investment in regional and near-mine exploration by previous owners Western Areas. The mine has operated successfully for over 10 years, delivering high grade ore feed to the Cosmic Boy Concentrator.

FLYING FOX MINE
Production at the Flying Fox underground mine ceased in November 2023.
Since production commenced in 2006, it was one of the highest-grade nickel mines in the world, operating at depths of over one kilometre underground.
Nickel production at Forrestania will continue from the Spotted Quoll underground mine.

In FY23, Forrestania achieved total production of 11,931 tonnes of nickel at a cash cost of A$9.65/lb Ni (payable).
